Directions to Bitburg

There are several options. 

 1.   Coming from the North-western area including Köln take this route:

From Köln go to the A-1 and continue as far as the exit for B-51 and Blankenheim. The B-51 goes all the way to Bitburg but a part of it is now the A-60. Be sure to get off again at the exit for the B-51 and Bitburg. On B-51 there are several exits for Bitburg but (after having passed a building with a very long blue roof) you need to take the one marked B50 (=E42) Wittlich/Masholder/Gewerbegebiet/Bitburg-Süd.  After the exit go right over the blue bridge and then right again.   Stay on the priority road until you see right the Wankelstrasse. Turn right and go to a T-Intersection.Turn left and come to the gate. Here begins military terrain.

tay on the priority road until you come to the 4-way stop sign.  Turn left. Stay on this road until you reach another stop sign. Turn left and go under the bridge. Turn left again. Meeting room is at the end of the long garage building (see red AA on the map)

2.   Coming from the North-eastern area via Koblenz take this route: 

Follow the A-1 to Wittlich.  In Wittlich exit, following the signs to Bitburg.  There are several turns until you are on the B-50 (=E42), but they are all clearly marked to Bitburg.  Stay on the B-50 to Bitburg.  As soon as you come in to Bitburg, you will approach a roundabout, which is on the map included with these directions.  Go around the roundabout 3/4 of the way and exit toward Bitburg-Center. After about 200 m turn left into the Südtangente/Südring. Take the first street left (Wankelstrasse). You will come to a T-Intersection. Turn left and come to the gate. Here begins military terrain.

3.   Coming from the South (either from France or southern Germany) take this route:

Take A-6 (Mannheim/Saarbrücken) to the Landstuhl Autobahnkreuz.  Exit on the A-62 north toward Trier.  This merges with the A-1.  Exit the A-1 on A-602 toward Trier.  Take the second exit on B-52 toward Bitburg.  Stay on B-52 until it becomes the A-48 going to Luxembourg.  In about 2 km. take the first exit on B-51 to Bitburg.  Follow this about 27 km. and exit the B-51 at the exit marked B-50 Wittlich/Masholder/Gewerbegebiet/Bitburg-Süd exit.  After the exit go right over the blue bridge and then right again.   Stay on the priority road until you see right the Wankelstrasse. Turn right and go to a T-Intersection. Turn left and come to the gate. Here begins military terrain.

 4.   Coming from Liege, Belgium, Holland, Aachen, Düsseldorf:

Use the E 40 Aachen - Liege (=Lüttich = Luik); from Holland, Liege head for Aachen, Verviers; from Düsseldorf, Aachen head for Liege (=Lüttich), at Battice exit south toward Verviers/Malmédy, Treves (=Trier) on E-42.  This same route will eventually enter Germany.  Then the route becomes marked A-60.  Be sure to get off again at the exit for the B-51 and Bitburg.
